Known artisan and teacher of the city of Salamanca.
I started my career as artisan and teacher in 1996 participating in courses and programs, as well as with the government of Salamanca, rescuing public spaces and in the youth attention division in the section of cardboard, piñatas, kites, drawing, and painting. As an independent teacher, I had the opportunity to work in rehab courses for adults, in prison, and with disabled people.
I was recruited by the master Ramon Ramirez Lopez, president of the Art Association “Es por Salamanca”, and was recommended to FONART to start imparting summer courses since 2003. In 2009 I was responsible of the cardboard workshop in the House of Culture in the Municipality of Salamanca, and later on, I began to work with the Art Center creating tools, theater stages and different objects that needed to be produced by a plastic artist, along as different courses in the states of Guanajuato.
At the early age of 8 years old I first knew the House of Culture in Salamanca with the kids dance group, the drawing workshop, and the chess workshop.
My mother: Otomi Artisan, mi grandfather was a woodcarver and my uncle a wire artisan, this mixture of knowledge gave me the opportunity to stand out and make a living out of the artesania (Mexican folk art). This is one of the reasons why I committed to learn and polish this inherited skills with a strong academic foundation taking courses in FONART, such as sculpture, painting, and cardboard work, along with others in the Center of Arts Salamanca.
I had the great opportunity of knowing and learning of the best art teachers in the country, in different techniques as carving, format painting, madonnari (street painting), mural painting and graffiti. Thanks to this courses and classes, I have developed great quality and success in the artisan industry of cardboard of Celaya, Gto. Place where the regional contest of this technique took place, and that I have proudly been awarded for 9 years in a road in the category of alebrije grande (Mexican folk art sculptures). In my career, I have been awarded more than 50 different prizes at regional, national, and international levels. Even when personal success if very satisfying, to me, it`s even more to see my students being awarded as well in regional, statal, national and international contests. In 2016 they participated in a gallery in The Vatican, displaying three outstanding creations.
